Overview
Established in 1993 by Clal Industries & Investments Ltd. (CII), one of Israel's largest industrial groups, Clal Biotechnology Industries Ltd. (CBI) is a specialized investment company, the largest of its kind in Israel.
Since inception, CBI focuses on identifying and building biotechnology companies with proprietary biopharmaceutical solutions to unmet clinical needs, clinical proof of concept and large potential markets. CBI is distinguished by hands-on managerial involvement, a unique investment strategy, long-term commitment, and deep understanding of the life science industry.
Managing over $300M in capital, CBI is a leading player in the biotechnology industry in Israel. The Company is a subsidiary of CII (64% of company's shares) and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., the world's largest manufacturer of generic drugs (15% of company's shares).
